Cinematheque 16

In the late 1960s this small storefront on the Sunset Strip became a hub for Los Angeles’s film underground. In 1966, a young New York University graduate named Lewis Teague began to use the theater for screenings that combined film with light shows and rock n’ roll. Screenings promised psychedelic film trips and recent works by Andy Warhol and attracted young hippies, artists and musicians.
