Home of Walter Hopps
When Walter Hopps accepted a curatorial position at the Pasadena Art Museum in 1962, he purchased a home at this location on N. Orange Grove Boulevard in Pasadena. By the summer of 1969, when Bruce Nauman moved in with fellow artist Richard Jackson, Hopps had left for Washington, D.C., to become director of the Corcoran Gallery of Art. Nauman remained there until 1970, after which he moved to an apartment nearby on S. Fair Oaks Boulevard. Jackson later built a studio on the property.
