In the 1950s, artists Robert Irwin and Craig Kauffman, and later Ed Moses, shared a studio at this location on Sawtelle Boulevard near Bundy’s Lock & Key, close to Syndell Studios. For a time it housed Stone Brothers Printing, a press run by Robert Alexander and Wallace Berman. According to Ed Moses, who occupied the studio at different times in the 1950s and early 1960s, the space had formerly housed the office of novelist Raymond Chandler.
