Los Angeles Contemporary Exhibitions (LACE)

Los Angeles Contemporary Exhibitions (LACE) was founded in 1978 by a group of artists, and its first exhibition space was at this location in downtown Los Angeles. While LACE has presented exhibitions by artists in a range of mediums, its focus since the late 1970s has been emerging art forms such as performance, video, and installation. Early exhibitions and performances featured the work of John Baldessari, Chris Burden, Dan Graham, Barbara Kruger, and Ed Ruscha, among others. In the mid-1990s, LACE moved to its current location on Hollywood Boulevard.
