Barney’s Beanery
Barney’s Beanery is a restaurant and bar at this location on Santa Monica Boulevard in West Hollywood. In the 1950s and 1960s, as La Cienega Boulevard became the primary nexus for art galleries in Los Angeles, Barney’s became a local artist hangout, particularly for those associated with the Ferus Gallery. Edward Kienholz created a large-scale installation, The Beanery, in homage to the establishment in 1965.
