On View at the Getty Center: Greetings from L.A.: Artists and Publics 1950-1980

Beginning in 1965, whenever he was short on funds (or, “tapped out”), George Herms held Tap City Circuses at his home in Topanga Canyon, which were sort of like raffles, with artworks as prizes.
