Al’s Grand Hotel

For Al’s Grand Hotel, Allen Ruppersberg turned a two-story Craftsman-style house located at 7175 Sunset Boulevard in Hollywood into a fully functioning hotel, which he ran for a little over a month in 1971. The hotel featured uniquely decorated and named rooms, such as the Jesus Room and the Bridal Suite, and hosted concerts on Saturday evenings by Terry Allen and others.
