Art & Language Arts Alumni Event: Food in Art

This year’s event for alumni of the Art & Language Arts program, which will take place on Saturday, August 7, from 8:30 a.m.–4:30 p.m., will explore the theme of food in art. Learn ways to connect your students to metaphorical meals, still-life paintings, and banquets fit for a king, through hands-on art-making activities, gallery tours, and presentations from Museum staff and guest speakers. Open Studio: A Collection of Art-Making Ideas by Artists

We are very excited to announce the launch of Open Studio: A Collection of Art-Making Ideas by Artists. Open Studio was conceived by internationally renowned artist Mark Bradford whose fifth grade teacher inspired him to develop an online resource for K-12 teachers. Eleven artists have shared ideas for making the artists come alive in your classroom. Try some with your students and share the results!
