Fun with Painting! A Great First Day for the 12th Class in the Art & Language Arts Program
Teachers in the 20112012 class of the Art & Language Arts program were greeted at the Getty Center wish sunshine, bright colors, and a shared enthusiasm for bringing art to the classroom.

- Because the galleries are closed to the public today, some of the hallways and rooms were dark!
- Artist and museum educator Sandy Rodriguez modeled a variety of watercolor techniques.
- Teachers practiced created a variety of marks using different kinds of paints.
- Participants were invited to create works of art that evoked their favorite celebrations.
- Teachers looked for inspiration in Centennial of Independence, a painting by Henri Rousseau.
- Palms Elementary principal Keith Abrahams and teacher Char Shuart had fun creating washes of color.
